Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Washington on Monday for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, marking their first in-person meeting since the recent conflict involving Iran. The visit is Netanyahu's eighth meeting with Trump since the U.S. president returned to office and the first since February, before Israel and the United States launched coordinated military operations against Iran.
Speaking before his departure, Netanyahu said the leaders would discuss key regional issues, with Iran expected to top the agenda. He added that Israel's priorities remain safeguarding national security and expanding peace efforts across the Middle East.
The meeting comes after the United States paused its military campaign against Iran over the weekend. Tehran has said it will halt retaliatory attacks as long as the U.S. suspension remains in place. Israel, however, has warned that any future attack by Iran would be met with a strong military response, underscoring the fragile nature of the current ceasefire.
